The Opportunity

The Senior Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Marketing and will lead the global Marketing Communications team.  Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: Deliver forward-thinking marketing solutions that raise the Maples Groups' profile as a premier financial services provider and employer of choice.  Primary responsibilities include:

 

Strategy, Operational Planning and Performance:

  • collaborate with senior Public Relations, Business Development (BD) and Marketing Technology leadership team members to strategise, develop and execute on dynamic marketing and digital initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness, generating new business opportunities and enhancing overall client experience;
  • drive the development and execution of innovative digital marketing strategies, working with specialists on the team to monitor and analyse campaign performance, implement tests, and ensure optimisations are completed in a timely and effective manner;
  • collaborate with department counterparts across the Maples Group to ensure alignment across marketing and business development efforts;
  • collaborate with BD Research team to systematise advanced market research / analysis including staying abreast of industry trends, market dynamics and competitor activities;
  • prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and stakeholders, summarising campaign performance, competitor activity and digital marketing trends, with analysis and recommendations to evolve strategies; and
  • proactively identify and address opportunities to streamline processes with a passion for automation across workflows, reporting, lead management and content personalisation. 

 

Business Unit Programmes:

  • develop and execute marketing plans for each service line, including working with client service professionals to identify campaign opportunities, recommend appropriate marketing channels and budget spend, promote internal awareness and cross-selling initiatives, and ensure that there is consistency and coordination across all marketing efforts to achieve growth targets;
  • develop, maintain and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, budget and tactical recommendations;
  • support the development of engaging content for websites, print and digital ads, client updates, brochures, newsletters, pitch proposals, presentations, etc.;
  • support the re-packaging of technical and thought leadership content for distribution across multimedia platforms including print, digital, video and social media; and
  • work with the BD team to coordinate and execute client events and conferences, including sourcing venues, negotiating vendor packages, ordering promotional items, managing client communications, supplying appropriate branding materials, and providing on-the-ground support as required.

 

Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Programmes:

  • support the execution of human resources (HR) and talent acquisition (TA) strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention and improve employer branding and recruitment marketing;
  • provide branding and communications direction and ideas for HR events and programmes, and oversee digital recruitment marketing campaigns across various job search channels and social media; and
  • collaborate with HR and TA teams across all offices to ensure that there is consistency and coordination of all marketing communications efforts.

 

Brand and Collateral Management:

  • manage and oversee the development of new sales collateral and ensure that regular audits are conducted on existing suite of materials to maintain accuracy of information, stats and contact information;
  • oversee Maples Group branded items including selection of vendors and merchandise including ensuring that coordinating annual global orders are completed;
  • prepare briefs and work with the Digital and Creative Services team to fulfil a variety of creative design and digital content requests; and
  • follow and promote best practice protocols, ensuring marketing materials and communications are aligned to brand standards and are developed and distributed in line with approved processes.

 

Team Development and Administration:

  • deliver increased operational oversight, leadership and guidance to the Marketing Communications specialists within the department, ensuring team members are aligned with overall department goals and motivated to deliver exceptional service;
  • encourage innovation within the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and exploring new approaches to enhance marketing efforts;
  • assist in identifying and nurturing talent within the department for future leadership roles, including identifying mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members;
  • ensure various administrative tasks including processing invoices, regularly auditing marketing materials, maintaining staff bios, and coordinating headshots are actioned in a timely manner by the team; and
  • carry out any other duties which may from time to time be required.

 

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

 

  • a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications;
  • a minimum of 15 years' experience in a marketing communications role within the financial or professional services industry;
  • extensive knowledge of social media networks and reporting and campaign management dashboards, Google and Bing ads, website CMS and analytics platforms, CRM and email marketing software products, and other marketing automation systems;
  • knowledge of the global digital recruitment marketing landscape and experience with popular job search websites such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Indeed;
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyse causes, research and weigh-up alternative solutions, and provide recommendations for improvement;
  • outstanding project management skills and the ability to delegate and prioritise work with underlying team members across multiple projects;
  • excellent copywriting and editing skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with all levels of staff, including being able to collaborate effectively and build rapport with senior management;
  • excellent attention to detail, with the ability to ensure that global processes and policies are followed, reviews and approvals are obtained and meet Maples Group standards; and
  • proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
